O filme 'Dos Lugares' é a primeira parte do projecto multimédia 'Cadernos de Viagem', concebido por Manuel Valente Alves e Vítor Ramos para a comemoração dos 20 anos da Associação Portuguesa dos Médicos de Clínica Geral. Neste filme cruzam-se registos alusivos aos percursos e aos lugares onde decorreram anualmente, entre 1983 e 2003, os Encontros Nacionais de Clínica Geral, com uma entrevista sobre o conceito de "lugar" feita ao arquitecto Manuel Vicente pelo historiador de arte João Lima Pinharanda.
A postura humanista de Manuel Vicente é profundamente actual pois reconhece a necessidade de religar a arte e a ciência, a natureza e a cultura, num todo operativo destinado a compreender melhor o mundo em que vivemos, conceitos com os quais a especialidade de Medicina Geral e Familiar se identifica plenamente, e que aqui se apresentam numa perspectiva aberta, não auto-centrada.

The film 'On Places' is the first part of the multimedia project 'Travel Notes', created by Manuel Valente Alves and Victor Ramos for the commemoration of the 20 years of the Portuguese Association of General Practitioners. This film crosses records related with the routes and places where National General Practice Meetings were held between 1883 and 2003, with an interview with the architect Manuel Vicente made by art historian John Pinharanda around the concept of "place".
The humanistic approach of Manuel Vicente is deeply present because it recognizes the need to reconnect the art and science, nature and culture, a whole operating intended to better understand the world we live in, concepts with which the specialty of Family Medicine is fully identified, and presented here in an open perspective, not self-centered.
